Karl Marx was born in 1818 at Brückenstrasse 10. The late Baroque townhouse is now a museum with a permanent exhibition run by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. It was completely overhauled in 2018 for the bicentenary, replacing a relic-style display with a modern presentation.
